I have worked for over twenty years on projects that overlap art, science and computing, with organisations including Cambridge University, King's College London, and the BBC.

I am interested in the creative use of computers and in the new 'complexity' sciences. I connect these in my work by trying to understand how systems as diverse as plants, cities and music are similarly organised, and how they can be represented and manipulated with algorithms. These algorithms are then used as expressive tools, or instruments, to generate, visualise and compose.

Currently I work freelance, collaborating with TraceMedia Projects, and the arts group Reconnoitre.
